Overview

You’ll get your ironing done in no time at all with this Ergo Ironing Board from Minky.

It will make completing this chore much easier and with a large ironing surface of 122 by 38cm, this gives you plenty of space to iron.

Your clothes will be wrinkle-free and you’ll be ready to go to work with smart crisp outfits to impress.

Designed for comfort, speed and performance the Minky Ergo ironing board has a unique double-sided rest, specially shaped to follow a natural arm movement for both left and right-handed users.

The Prozone cover has a heat reflective metallic coating concentrated at the nose end of the board for faster crease removal, whilst the extra thick felt underlay gives a smooth ironing surface.

The handy flex guide prevents your iron cord from tangling/snagging and can be easily clipped into your chosen position. The robust four leg design, with a contemporary gunmetal finish, provides strength and stability in use.

For ease of use, the universal height mechanism allows the Ergo board to be positioned exactly at your preferred working height, up to 92cms.

Features and Benefits

  • Robust – It's four legged design will last with daily use in your home.
  • Comfortable – The Ergo rest is natrually comfortable for both left and right handed use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Board but a Fly in the Ointment The Minky Ergo is mostly well made, though I had to sand out a few burrs on some edges of the metalwork that might catch fabric (or skin) and cause problems, mainly on the inner edges of the iron rest. No big deal but you'd expect a finished product to be, well.. finished. The board is light compared to my old Brabantia of same dimensions, but not too light, so good when you need to carry it from here to there and sturdy on its feet. Some reviewers have complained of uneven legs, but they were probably unlucky - though Minky might need to tighten up its QC a little. Though this is common to a lot of boards on the market, there is insufficent padding under the cover; not sure why ironing board makers skimp on this detail considering its importance in providing a good ironing surface. This was true of my old Brabantia - and that brand is regarded as high-quality. So you'll probably want some extra foam or felt padding, widely available (including offerings from Minky). Unlike the Brabantia, though, the Ergo's cover doesn't use drawstrings, opting for an elasticated hem; this is a bit of a pain to fit, particularly when you're also trying to centre a separate padded layer underneath while stretching the cover across a 4ft board. A nice feature, though I didn't get around to testing it, is the Ergo cover's part-heat-reflective surface, which should help increase ironing efficiency. The deal breaker for me is the iron rest. It does not securely accomodate my Philips Azur steam iron, which, although bulky, has been a standard format for many years now; other brands produce equally bulky irons (e.g. Bosch). With any movement of the board, the iron is prone to slip into a flat attitude and could well end up on the floor. This should not be an issue if you have a smaller iron. You might expect Minky to have taken different possible sizes into account when designing their iron rest. This is why I eventually opted to replace my old Brabantia with a.. new Brabantia. The minky, sadly, had to be returned. Nevertheless, if you don't use a big, bulky iron and you want good value for your money, seeing that decent boards nowadays cost an arm and a leg, you may well find the Minky Ergo to be just right for your needs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from lightweight not a lot I can say about an ironing board but happy with the purchase. It folds and unfolds and helps me iron creases out of my shirts. It wont change my life and I sincerely hope it doesn't change your either!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Insufficient packaging Although possibly caused during transport, insufficient packaging causing two of the ironing boards legs to rip through the plastic leading to two of the rubber caps/feet of the legs to come off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but potential flaw Nice and light, but also seems pretty sturdy. The edge of the ironing board, however, has some sharp bits which has led to the cover ripping during delivery. Robert Dyas gave us a partial refund so we could buy a replacement cover though. We'll try to smooth the edge down ourselves.
